Only buy and eat “Organic” Mushrooms

Only buy and eat “Outdoor Log Grown” mushrooms

NOTE: Critical Facts about Indoor farmed mushrooms to be aware of:

  • Indoor grown mushrooms are grown on sawdust blocks wrapped in petroleum based plastic bags.
  • The sawdust is usually obtained from Saw Mill operations that lubricate the saw blades as it cuts through the wood.
  • Because of this, the sawdust always contains traces of that lubricant (oils, degreasers, pine-sol, soaps, etc).
  • Saw mills also don’t know if the logs they cut are clean and certified “organic”.
  • The logs that are sawed often contain pesticides and or chemical residue traces from air-born exhaust and other man made pollutants that get trapped in the tree layers annually where the trees are grown.
  • Since mushrooms eat the sawdust as they grow, the mushrooms will also consume these contaminants!
  • Furthermore, Indoor grown mushrooms require ventilation, Air Conditioning, Heating, Humidity control and Artificial Lighting. Continuous inspection, testing, filtration and monitoring must be done because mushrooms inhale oxygen from their surroundings and exhale C02. Anything in the air will be transferred into the mushrooms.
  • Most indoor mushroom growing operations CAN NOT be Organic because of the above factors.
  • Be diligent when purchasing and eating mushrooms to assure they are Organic, and Outdoor grown on logs!!!
